The Swankiest Party... EVER!

Nicole and Jake married in January 2007. They held off have their reception until they were ready to do it up right! Their marriage ceremony and simple reception in 2007 wasn't too shabby, but very little compares to the show they put on a few weeks ago. It was truly out of this world. It felt like Los Angeles celebrity world got transported to Gainesville, Florida. The event was to the nines. Nicole sported her favorite Jimmy Choo shoes that were photographed here on the silver-leafed dance floor that was centered in the 3-4,000 square foot, clear plastic, air-conditioned tent that housed all the night's festivities!

Seating areas composed of white bookshelves & white leather sofas
were scattered throughout the tent. The centerpieces on the white and silver
table tops were arrangements of phaelonopsis orchids. It was truly spectacular!
Dessert raviolis and chocolate sticks were a tasty treat on one of the
dessert bars. There was a bar for every taste: sushi, cheese, drinks,
drinks, drinks, coffee, seafood, savory meats... you name it!

An awesome band out of Orlando entertained the crowd all evening!

A very talented cigar roller worked his magic.

Everyone had a rockin' good time! It was an evening of indulgence. The number one goal was for everyone to have a good time! Mission accomplished!

As the sun set, the tent took on a life of it's own! The walkway was flanked by Zen fountains seated in pools covered with floating candles and orchid blossoms. It was other-worldly!

A Sad Delay

Last fall Amanda came into our studio looking for a photographer for the celebration of her marriage to Jack. This may sound really cheesy, but Amanda is one of those girls that I feel like I've known my entire life. She is laid back, easy going, calls it like it is. Last December, the three of us met at a friend's horse farm in Ocala to shoot some engagement photos. It was a beautiful, winter day. The sun was low and the sky was crazy blue. Jack and I met for the first time. The moment I met Jack, he reminded me of someone I knew when I was a kid. I took to Jack before he had a chance to figure out if he took to me... Jack is a quiet, reserved man. He doesn't smile much. He's pretty serious. I took it on as a personal mission to make him smile. What I found as we wandered the farm was something far more endearing than a smile. Jack's not a big smiler, but he doesn't stop Amanda from smiling. He watches her and loves her and protects her. They have an intimacy and understanding that runs deep. It was such an honor to attempt to capture that.

Preparations have been underway for months for their May 3rd celebration. Just after our photo shoot, Jack went to Iraq as a contract worker. His ETA back in the States was the end of this April. The celebration was set to honor a marriage and a homecoming! Last Monday, I got back in the studio to find a voicemail from Amanda's mom saying the the celebrations are off... Jack's not going to make it home on time. My heart aches for them as they endure this time of questioning... When will he come? When will we celebrate? You all are in my thoughts. Please know that if there is anything I can do on this end to say the word. You and your family mean so much. You're the greatest, and you deserve to be celebrated!

Enjoy a few photos of Amanda and Jack on the farm! I love you guys! Hang in there and keep me posted!

Garden Celebration - Kelly + Bobby

Caroline and I had the pleasure of photographing the celebration of the marriage of Kelly and Bobby earlier this month. These two were sooooo excited! Saturday's rain chances were threatening, but the floods held off until the beautiful ceremony held on the lawn of the Gainesville Garden Club concluded. The rains came, but they definitely didn't wash out the party! Here a few pics that I shot on their wedding day!

Kelly chose pink and green. The colors popped down to her toes!

It's all in the details...

The entire wedding party danced their way down the aisle! Too cute!

These two are so in love. Gentle. Caring.

Kelly and her girls got their groove on! These girls have attitude!

Puppy Love

Any of you who know me, know that I love dogs! There's very little that brings out the silly, goofy side of me more than a cute little puppy. Last week, one of our brides, Kelly Kennedy, stopped by the studio to introduce us to the newest members of her family! Coach and Bella are Schnoodles (Schnauzer/Poodle mix). They moved FAST and were curious about every new smell! They were adorable and cuddly. This is a shot of Coach. He finally sat down when Kelly picked up his partner in crime! Isn't he precious?!

Twice as Nice

Saturday evening was the wedding ceremony for Kelly and Nick. If you've been blog-stalking, you have seen these faces before! This sweet, sweet couple had a precious outdoor ceremony. It was held at the Town of Tioga just outside of Gainesville. It was beautiful! The guests remained standing during the ceremony and were invited to a fabulous cocktail hour and sit-down dinner following the event. Kelly and Nick celebrated the occasion with Nick's kids who were sooooo excited but didn't want to see any kissing! Kathryn, my assistant, and I had a ball. It was laid back and enjoyable. The focus was on the celebration of love, life, family, and fun! Cheers to you! - Mary

Nick's little boy couldn't WAIT to head to the ceremony!

The party was a hit! There were great dancers - young
and old alike. Kelly and Nick can really get a crowd going!
