Brandi's Tini Party

Do you ever have those out-of-body moments where you feel like the world just opened up and you got sucked into another dimension? That's what it's like to walk into Brandi and Brandon's home. It is such a magical place. While very sophisticated, you still feel like you could take your shoes off and stay a while. It's a wonderful balance of funky and traditional, free spirited and grounded, out of the box and .... well, out of the box. My friend, Becky Charton, and their friend and decorator helped Brandi put on a 30th birthday celebration fit for a princess. It was fabulous. I was asked to come along with a camera and document the details and the celebration.

Brandi, happy thirtieth birthday! It has been so much fun knowing you. I wish you all the best in the decade to come! Love, Mary

P.S. That was one hell of a martini party!

The home's entrance didn't need much decorating! It's always ready for a party!
Is that light fixture not INCREDIBLE?!

The upstairs bar was the first stop for all the guests.
It was one of 3 locations to fetch a cold beverage.

Becky Charton of Table Setters had fun with the house's decor and is resposible for the beautiful flower arrangements. Catering to You can take the credit for the fun food! And it was oh soooo good! This is the Sushi table! Sayings were written on the floors... this table's saying says " I like a martini, two at the most, three I'm under the table, four I'm under the host!"

The Martini was the theme for the night. Martini menus were placed throughout the home with the night's martini offerings. They covered all the bases from traditional, to girly, to non-alcoholic! I loved the range!

If you have a hard time reading the saying at the second bar, it says "Waiter, my martini glass is too small!"

Moving on to the lower level of the home... or shall I say, the VIP Club?

There was more action in the back of the house!

The guests were served by wandering waitresses many mini foods that all packed a powerful flavor punch. There was sushi served in cups... too cute! Cheese stacks marinated in a vinegarette came next. Dessert was a fabulous combination of strawberries drizzled with reduced sugar dipped in lemoncello! TO DIE FOR!

Brandon and Brandi having fun on the dance floor!

The birthday girl....

.... and her adoring fans!

Brandon gave a sweet toast to his beautiful wife.

Brandi tearfully received his praise.

The party went on late into the night and a good time was had by all!

Ashley - Natural Beauty

Ashley and Collier got married last weekend at dreamy Grayton Beach, FL. It is such a beautiful spot - soft, white sand, coastal breeze, beautiful homes... the perfect beach community. I haven't heard how the wedding went, but I look forward to everyone returning to tell the tales! On October 4, Ashley, my mom, her mom, and two of her best friends gathered at a beautiful home in Little Rock. The art, the colors, the textures of this home were edible. I just loved it! Add a beautiful bride to the mix, and you really can't get much better! Ashley, I hope that you love these images, but more importantly I hope you know how beautiful you are - inside and out. Congratulations on your marriage! I wish you both many, many, many years together! Enjoy!

Love,

MT

Pure drama!

Such a sexy silhouette!

Crissy - Beautiful Bride

A couple of weeks ago, Lori (my very talented sister-in-law) and I had the pleasure of working together to capture photos of Crissy all dolled up in her wedding regalia. We met Crissy at her stepmom's brother's museum... uh... home! The confusion is warranted. This home was built to accommodate their impressive art collection. Crissy chose well to have the shoot there. The hurricane Ike was making its way through the state leaving a wind blown, rainy path in its wake. Despite the inclimate weather, Crissy dressed for the occasion and the 3 of us had a marvelous time. I've been given permission to share these images with you only because Crissy spilled the beans. She had prints made of some of them and just couldn't resist showing them to Leo. That's totally something I would do!

Crissy and Leo are set to marry in two weeks!!! I can't wait. It will be a beautiful celebration. I love you guys! Happy final stretch of wedding preparation... keep the honeymoon in your sites!

Public Service Announcement

If you are like me, you are little confused... okay a lot confused about what is going on in this country. Rumor has it that things are worse than they were in the Great Depression. I guess I am grateful to not have much money tied up in anything right now... but the only thing I would consider tying it up in right now would be the springs of my mattress! This video will NOT answer your questions to any of your concerns, but it may inspire you to do something about it. Vote about it. Read about it. Take action.
